This is a recording of a live training event held between Phil, of Blue Llama, and the Parish Dog Licence Administrators in June 2023.
Before we dive into the training, it is important that you be aware of a fundamental distinction regarding how dog owners (ie the public) will create and access their dog licences and how you, as a Parish admin, will navigate this new online system for managing Jersey dog licences. It is essential to know that the system is split into two core views:
- Doglicences.je – This is a public-facing website and can be accessed by anyone. It is the platform where Jersey islanders can register their dogs, access their licence details, make changes etc.
- Poodl.je – This is the online software where Parish admins can view, edit, create and close dog licences (created by users on the public site). This panel is private and new users can only be added by email invite only.
This training video will focus primarily on Poodl.je, as this is what you will use to monitor and manage dog licences. However, you will learn fundamental insights about the public-facing site, necessary to understanding the experience of dog owners.
You can use the ‘timestamps’ below to navigate the video.

The other help centre articles should be able to ‘fill in the gaps’ in anything that this video overlooked!
